FAQs

Rock climbing is a discipline within sport climbing. In addition to climbing indoors in gyms, you can also climb outdoors on real rock. The combination of mental challenge, technique, physical strength and skills has a strong appeal for climbers. We’re happy to guide you through your first metres during a course, or on a recreational climbing trip.

From the Lesse Valley in the Ardennes, we organize climbing courses for all levels. From your first metres on the rock to specialised courses for advanced climbers. Less than three hours’ drive from the Netherlands, this is the perfect location to sharpen your knowledge, technique and experience on real rock.

Single pitch climbing is climbing a single rope length (pitch). The climber starts from the ground and climbs up using lead climbing. Once at the top, at the anchor, the climber converts the setup from lead climbing to top rope, after which the belayer lowers them back down.

Multi pitch climbing is climbing a route that consists of multiple (multi) rope lengths (pitches). The climber starts from the ground and climbs to the first anchor using lead climbing. There, the climber builds a belay station and belays the second climber up. This process repeats until the top of the route is reached, after which the climbers descend by abseiling or by hiking back down.

Via ferrata (also known as klettersteig) is a sport in its own right. In practice, there is more to it than simply clipping your via ferrata set correctly. If you want to go out independently, it’s important to have the necessary safety knowledge. During our basic course, you will work on these skills so that you can head out independently with confidence.

Depending on the type of bad weather, the course or climbing trip will continue as planned. If there are occasional showers, climbing can usually still take place. If continuous rain is forecast for the entire weekend or a longer period, we may be forced to reschedule or cancel.
