Progress update: National Climbing Center
The National Climbing Center (NCC) is opening its doors in Nieuwegein: the largest climbing facility in the Benelux and the official training centre for the Dutch National Team. Whether you are scaling a wall for the first time or preparing for an international championship, this is the place for every climber. Centrally located and easy to reach, the centre was built with light, space, and sustainability as its foundation.

Onze nieuwe website is LIVE!

Together, more than just a sport | MORE COMMUNITY
You never climb alone. It's a sport that connects, motivates and inspires. We are building a community where everyone feels at home and continues to develop together.
Whoever you are or where you come from, with us, you share the same drive to go up. Together, we make climbing more than just a sport. test

Full focus, at all levels | MORE CHALLENGES
Growth does not happen by itself. You have to keep challenging yourself. We challenge ourselves, our community and our network to always take the next step up.
That means training and climbing at your level, with room to grow. From beginner to Olympic level. From training to competition. And from indoor to outdoor.

After 40 years, we're taking the next step | MORE LEGACY
Since 1986, we have been building climbing together. What started as a passion grew into a national network of climbing and bouldering halls, outdoor courses and traveling. And above all: a close-knit community.
But building also means continuing to choose. Sticking to what was won't get you further up. That is why, after 40 years, we are taking the next step. Not because it needs to change, but because we want to do more for climbing and the community that wears it.
In the coming days, we'll take you through a few news stories. About our choices, what we stand for and the next step we're going to take. 💪
The same passion. The same people. Coming soon under a new name..

NCC - November Monthly Update
At the end of November, we reached a special milestone: the construction of the first climbing walls in the beginner area of the National Climbing Center (NCC) started. An important step towards the opening of a center that wants to take Dutch climbing to a new level.
At Mountain Network, we believe in a place where sports, innovation and community come together. That's why we're building the NCC with strong partners. In our new Experience Center, we work closely with La Sportiva and Petzl, FysioHolland B.V. will open a modern physio practice within our location and Kind&co ludens will soon offer childcare for young adventurers.
We spoke to all these partners about their role within the NCC and what visitors can expect in the future.

Mountain Beat: A New Chapter for Mountaineers
For years, Mountain Network had one face: a wide range of products that brought everything together. From climbing in the hall and rock climbing courses in the Ardennes to an alpine climb in the Alps and expeditions outside Europe. That worked well, but at the same time, there was a realization: this broad palette was becoming too broad.
In 2025, it was therefore decided to privatize the mountaineering travel department. Mountain Network will focus on climbing and bouldering, both indoors and outdoors. The travel activities related to mountaineering, skiing, trekking and expeditions have been taken over by Erwin de Boer and Jelle Staleman. They will continue independently, under a new name: Mountain Beat.

NCC - Not 'good enough', but really good
At the National Climbing Center (NCC), our builders show that things can be done differently: not “good enough is good enough”, but building from vision, design and experience.
We spoke to Victor Meulendijks and Arlen Strengers from SET routesetting. Both responsible for the design and implementation of perhaps the most important facilities within the NCC, the climbing routes and walls!
Early opening hours for members - Mountain Network Dordrecht
This month, we're starting something new at Mountain Network Dordrecht: Early entry for members!
From October 29, membership holders will be able to enter the hall before regular opening hours. This is done by means of the QR code that hangs next to the front door.

Interview with founder Johan Cavé
Last Monday, there was a full-page article in de Volkskrant about our founder and general manager Johan Cavé. A nice interview about how his love for climbing grew into a life's work, from the first wooden handles in a shed to the almost completed National Climbing Center in Nieuwegein. An inspiring story about passion and entrepreneurship and a great insight into the history and future of our organization.

National Climbing Center/September Monthly Update
Get ready for a new chapter!
In mid-2025, we started our largest project ever: the National Climbing Center (NCC) in Nieuwegein. In the coming period, we will take you on a monthly basis via this newsletter and an update video. Construction is progressing steadily: the steel structure is currently being installed and things are suddenly going very fast! At the end of October, we will celebrate reaching the highest point and members of MN Nieuwegein are invited to do so.
At the end of December, we will close the doors of our current climbing hall in Nieuwegein and in early January we will open the first climbing facilities in the new hall. Please note: this is still a first phase and the facilities are still limited. The entire center will open in phases in the first quarter of 2026.

De bouw van het NCC is gestart!
🎉 De bouw is gestart: National Climbing Centre Nieuwegein komt eraan! 🧗♂️

On The Road!

Flashtest 2025 Nieuwe routes, nieuwe kansen!
Sta jij bovenaan in jouw locatie?
