Single pitch course

The Single pitch course is the indispensable step towards independent climbing on any type of rock. The first part of this is the Single Pitch course where you make the step from indoor to outdoor pre-climbing. From our ideally located base, a 15-minute walk from the Pont-à-Lesse rocks, you'll gradually take your climbing to the next level.
What are you going to do?
The techniques you know from the climbing gym are repeated, applied in different areas and expanded. For example, you will learn how to convert to a toprope situation and learn how to abseil. In addition, you will cover how to break off a route safely. All of this includes your first steps towards becoming a self-employed climber.
Why this course
During this course, you will learn how to climb step by step in covered terrain. Here, you will receive intensive guidance from certified instructors. At the end of the weekend, there is an opportunity to obtain the NKBV Outdoor Pre-Climbing Single Pitch (KVB-OVSP) Climbing Certificate!
Where are you going to climb
The course takes place in one or more beautiful climbing areas in the Ardennes, such as Pont-à-Lesse, within walking distance of the base camp. Other areas are usually 25 minutes' drive from our base camp at Villatoile campsite. Transportation here is on your own; of course, we will set up a carpool schedule together.
Fully cared for
From our base camp, we provide a delicious breakfast, lunch, dinner and a spot to pitch a tent. If you don't have a tent, you can rent a pop-up tent from us that we'll set up for you! We also have delicious drinks during an evening of relaxing and chatting with fellow students.

Yes, this is possible in consultation. Please contact us by email or phone so that we can coordinate the extra night.
Yes. You are welcome to visit the campsite where our Base Camp is located from 1:00 p.m.
Please note that the Base Camp is open from 16:00.
In that case, be sure to contact us. Then we'll see what's possible.
If there are no options, we must fall back on our cancellation policy.
Depending on the type of bad weather, the course will take place. In case of an occasional shower, you can simply climb. If rain is forecast for the entire weekend, we are forced to reschedule or cancel the weekend.
Yes. At Base Camp, you can charge your mobile devices. There is no electricity on the camping field. Are you coming with a motorhome or caravan and want a camping spot with electricity? Then this can be arranged at an additional cost (if space is available).
You don't get a discount with an NKBV membership. However, you do get a discount with the NKBV climbing year card.
