Trainer & Instructor
Are you an inspiring trainer and/or instructor who loves sharing your passion for climbing and bouldering with the next generation of athletes? For our new National Climbing Center in Nieuwegein we are looking for enthusiastic flexible trainers or instructors. Together with our other trainers you will provide weekly training sessions for both youth and adults. You will also introduce people to this fantastic sport for the first time, or coach athletes towards becoming independent climbers.
Where will you work?
With 5,100 m² of climbing and bouldering facilities, an official IFSC speed wall, advanced training zones, an athletes’ residence, professional hospitality and an Experience Center, the National Climbing Center (NCC) in Nieuwegein is becoming the new heart of climbing in the Netherlands. From elite athletes to families, from boulderers to lead climbers, everyone is welcome. The NCC is a Climbing Network project in partnership with the NKBV, FysioHolland, Petzl, La Sportiva, Kind & Co and the municipality of Nieuwegein. www.climbingnetwork.nl/ncc
What will you do?
As a Trainer/Instructor you are part of the training and instruction team under the leadership of our Youth & Training Coordinator and the Sport & Safety Team Leader. Your duties include:
- Being the point of contact for customers
- Contributing to a pleasant and safe sports environment
- Giving weekly training sessions to youth or adults
- Guiding one-off activities such as: climbing clinics, school climbing, introductory lessons, bouldering outings, autobelay climbing and much more!
- Taking part in large local, national and international events
- Supervising and coaching interns
- Contributing to safety, quality and an inspiring location
- Sharing your passion and affinity for climbing and bouldering with diverse groups
Who are you?
- Someone with a great passion and affinity for climbing and bouldering
- Welcoming, open and quality-focused
- Flexibly deployable, including weekends and weekday evenings
- Experience giving training sessions or courses
- Experience guiding groups
- Able to work independently and take responsibility
- Someone with a sharp eye for safety
We also require
- Minimum SKB2-IT or equivalent qualification, or willingness to obtain it
- MBO level of thinking and working
- A personal climbing level of at least 5c or higher
- In possession of a VOG (certificate of good conduct) or willing to apply for one
