Hospitality & Facilities Coordinator
Are you an energetic hospitality and facilities professional who likes taking responsibility and inspiring a team? Do you enjoy combining hospitality, catering and facility services in a sporty environment? For our new National Climbing Center in Nieuwegein we are looking for a Hospitality & Facilities Coordinator who works independently, shows ownership and brings our core values to life every day.
Where will you work?
With 5,100 m² of climbing and bouldering facilities, an official IFSC speed wall, advanced training zones, an athletes' residence, professional hospitality and an Experience Center, the National Climbing Centre (NCC) in Nieuwegein is becoming the new heart of climbing in the Netherlands. From elite athletes to families, from boulderers to lead climbers, everyone is welcome and can climb here in their own discipline and at their own level. The NCC is a Climbing Network project in partnership with the NKBV, FysioHolland, Petzl, La Sportiva, Kind & Co and the municipality of Nieuwegein.
What is your role?
As Hospitality & Facilities Coordinator you are, together with the Training & Youth Coordinator and the Gym Manager, the face of the National Climbing Center. You make sure everything around hospitality and facilities runs perfectly: from guest experience to hygiene, from menu to cleaning. You lead our hospitality and facilities team, work actively in the operation yourself and are the point of contact for staff, suppliers and guests.
You are also part of the national team of Hospitality & Facilities Coordinators. Together you develop policy and guidelines so that every location delivers a consistent and recognisable experience.
Your key responsibilities
- Hospitality & front desk: putting together the menu, purchasing, supplier contacts, meeting revenue and margin targets, working in line with HACCP, organising arrangements and events, and working behind the bar or in the kitchen yourself. Responsible for front desk work, including intake and registering customers, so every guest feels welcome from the first moment of contact.
- Team & training company: coaching and motivating staff, recruiting and guiding trainees, drawing up staff schedules, holding appraisal meetings and delivering training in hospitality, hygiene and HACCP.
- Facilities & hygiene: responsible for cleaning procedures and programmes, managing kitchen and hospitality equipment, till systems and sound systems, and — together with the Building Management Coordinator — taking care of maintenance and safety (first aid, alarms, installations).
- Commercial & relationship management: translating national and local goals into concrete actions, promoting activities and products, and maintaining supplier relationships and contracts.
Who are you?
A Coordinator at Climbing Network is more than a planner or manager — you are a leader in sport and hospitality.
- You stand among your people, not above them: you lead by example and give as much as you ask.
- You have your own vision and know how to connect it to national policy and Climbing Network's mission.
- You understand the power of self-managing teams: you take responsibility and know when to involve others.
- You live and breathe our core values. Together we build a close community where growth, fun and energy come first.
What you bring
- HBO level of thinking and working, preferably a degree in hotel management, facility management or similar.
- Experience leading a team in hospitality.
- In possession of (or willing to obtain): climbing certificate, Social Hygiene, first aid, practical supervisor.
- Representative, guest-focused and strong with numbers.
- An affinity with climbing and mountain sports is a plus, but not essential.
What do we offer?
- Working at the National Climbing Center of the Netherlands — the heart of Dutch climbing!
- A challenging role in a self-managing team where you can really make a difference.
- The chance to bring your ideas and vision to the national level.
- A dynamic working environment where sport, hospitality and professionalism come together.
- Room for personal development and training (internal/external).
- Pension scheme
- Laptop and phone allowance
- Travel allowance
- Unlimited sports membership at all CN locations
- Discount in our shop
